Bonn Sustainable Development Goals Fellowships 

Bonn SDG fellowship program is open for applications from africa, Latin America, and South/East Asia for research on Sustainable Development Goals-related topics. The research fellowship program is for a period of 3-12 months. The University of Bonn offer the fellowship program. It is for post doctoral researchers to collaborate with University professors on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Benefits of the program 

The fellowship program covers:

  • Travel Allowance 
  • €3,000 per month ( additional funds for family upto €3,00 for a spouse and €250 per child)
  • Monthly Research allowance  €500

Remember, the fellowship does not cover health insurance. Meanwhile, it does not provide housing for International recipients. 

Who is eligible to Apply for fellowship?

  • It is for post-doctoral researchers (foreign citizenship) for a joint research project with the Professor of the University of Bonn
  • The project should be related to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, which cover a wide range of topics such as poverty, health, education, climate change, etc.
  •  The fellow should have a long-term affiliation (research or teach) at a university or research institute in Africa, Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe or the Middle East beyond her/his fellowship.
  • Demonstrate proven expertise in an area of research from the thematic spectrum of the SDGs.
  • The fellowship duration, benefits and application process are detailed on the University of Bonn website.

The deadline for Bonn SDG fellowship is April 30th, 2024. 

How to Apply for the program ?

The application is submitted by a full-time professor at the University of Bonn along with the fellow. The application form must includes:

  • Online form 
  • Project description (8 pages ) consisting of abstract of proposed project, outline of the research project, Reasons for the fellow’s invitation , An overview of the collaboration between applicant and the fellow, an outline of the integration of fellow into the host institute 
  • Fellow’s CV
  • A financing Plan
