Eligibility Criteria For Australia Awards 

To apply for an Australia Awards scholarship, candidates must meet the general eligibility criteria outlined in the Australia Awards Scholarships Policy Handbook, which can be found at: dfat.gov.au/about-us/publications/Pages/australia-awards-scholarships-policy-handbook.aspx

Additionally, candidates from Bangladesh must fulfill the following specific conditions: They must belong to one of these target groups:

  • Group A: Government officials from Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bank staff, and Judicial Services staff
  • Group B: Development workers, especially from non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, or community-based organizations
  • Group C: Business owners or employees of private sector organizations
  • Australia Awards scholarships information for study commencing in 2025
  • Group D: Individuals from research institutions, universities, media, and cultural organizations
  • They must be Bangladeshi citizens who live in and apply for the scholarship from Bangladesh
  • They must not have any current or future relationship with a person who has or can have Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, at any stage of the application, selection or mobilization process
  • They must not be serving as military personnel
  • They must meet all the visa requirements of the Department of Home Affairs to hold a student visa supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
  • They must have obtained an IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.5 or an equivalent TOEFL or PTE score, with no individual band score below 6.0. The test scores must be valid on 1 January 2025
  • Women, people with disability, indigenous people, and persons from any marginalized gender groups may apply with an IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.0 or above (with no individual band below 5.5) or an equivalent TOEFL or PTE test score. However, they will need to improve their scores if they are offered a scholarship.

  • Transcripts and Certificates of Bachelor’s and Masters 
  • Proof of English Proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL or PTE certificate (valid at 1 January 2025) )

  • Curriculum Vitae 
  • If employed at the time of application, employment certificate
  • Proof of work experiences
  • For applicants from the Government of Bangladesh, proof of cadre service
  • Master’s by coursework applicants Two reports – one academic – one professional Template:

  • Research proposal 
  • Evidence of Written (email or letter) in-principle support from potential supervisors

Awards will be offered for commencement in 2025 within the following allocations:

  • Master’s by Coursework,
  • Master’s by Research.
