Australia Awards for Occupied Palestinian Territories

Australia awards for Occupied Palestinian Territories is accepting applications for the Master’s degree program. It is one of the most prestigious programs that provides an opportunity to study in Australia. The scholarship for Occupied Palestinian Territories is open to Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. 

Applications from women and disabled persons are strongly encouraged. The scholarship does not support a Bachelor or Phd degree to Palestinians. It is only for Masters courses. 

Students from Occupied Palestinian territories can find the courses listed on the commonwealth Register of Institution and the courses for overseas Students. Remember, the scholarship does not support medical degrees. 

Applicants must have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 or higher (with no individual band score of less than 6.0) or an equivalent TOEFL or PTE score.

Our priority areas for study are listed below however we welcome applicants from all fields of study to apply:

  • Digital Economy, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence

  • Health, including Public Health (but not medical degrees)
  • Peace and Development
  • Infrastructure and Urban Planning
  • International Relations, International Development and International Law
  • Humanitarian and Disaster Risk Management

Eligibility Criteria Country-specific

For Palestinian Authority employees:

  • Applicants must have a documented Academic IELTS score of at least 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 when applying to
  • Be considered for conditional awards.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who do not already hold a master’s degree.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who have not received a scholarship from other scholarship programs.
  • Must be an employee of the Palestinian Authority with at least two years’ experience.
  • Must have the support of their Ministry and must return to work in their Ministry on completion of the scholarship.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Receive final endorsement from their Ministry.

Private sector, NGOs staff and candidates from Palestinian Universities must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Have a documented Academic IELTS results with an overall score of at least 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 when applying
  • to be considered for conditional awards.
  • Must return to work in the Occupied Palestinian Territories on completion of the scholarship.

Supporting Documents for Australia Awards 

Documents are an essential part of an application. The applicant must have their documents ready to upload. The documents must be according to specifications. Following documents are required for Australia Awards:

  • Proof of citizenship i.e. birth certificate/passport if available and photographic identification i.e.
  • Student card/driver’s license if passport is not available
  • Tertiary degree certificates (Bachelor )
  • Academic transcripts (where they are not in English, please provide a certified English translation) 
  • IELTS, TOEFL or PTE results 
  • Employment or academic referee report with seal
  • Curriculum Vitae

The deadline for Australia awards for Occupied Palestine is 30 April 2024 (11:59pm AEST).
