Australia awards for Africa is inviting applications from students of African countries. The award is for students to stay Masters at an Australian Tertiary institution. It is a fully funded program and the scholarship is offered for 2025 courses. 

Australia awards are for developing countries. It is a great opportunity to study in Australia and build professional and personal qualities. It’s a competitive program that not only helps students in academics but also helps in professional development. The program aims to help reduce poverty and improve quality of life through quality education. 

It is open to everyone. However, Australia awards encourage applications from women, people with disability and people from marginalized groups.

Australia awards have some priorities and are more country specific. The priority fields of study for african countries includes:

Eligibility Criteria For the Awards

The eligibility criteria for Australia Awards specific to african students is below, 

  • Must be citizen of Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana,Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe and be residing in at the time application,unless working for an African Regional Organisation or working on diplomatic mission for their home country.
  • Minimum 25 years of age on February 01,2025
  • Not already hold or be undertaking a Master’s degree or equivalent (equivalent to a Master’s degree in home country).
  • Already hold an undergraduate degree (equivalent to an Australian undergraduate degree).
  • Not have previously received a long-term Australia Award.
  • Meet the minimum English language proficiency of at least 6.5 in IELTS with no band less than 6.0 (an internet based ) TOEFL score of at least 84, with a minimum of 21 in all subtests, or PTE Academic overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50). Scores must be valid on 1 January 2025. (Excluding candidates if their first language is English and they have undertaken their education in English).

Documents are important for any scholarship. The applicant must submit the following documents:

  • Proof of citizenship (Valid Passport)
  • Undergraduate Degree Certificate
  • Undergraduate Academic Transcripts 
  • Curriculum Vitae 
  • Employer Referee Report 
  • Academic Reference Report 
  • Proof of English language Proficiency ( IELTS/TOEFL/Pearson Test Certificate ) (Excluding candidates if their first language is English and they have undertaken their education in English)
