The Chevening Clore leadership Fellowship is currently open for applications. The program is a partnership between the commonwealth and development office, Clore leadership and Uk Foreign. If you are a mid-career professional in the arts and culture sector, you might be interested in the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship.
This is a unique opportunity to join a cohort of about 20 fellows from the UK and around the world, who will participate in a tailored leadership programme in the UK. The programme is a collaboration between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Clore Leadership, a leading organization in developing cultural leaders.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office sponsors up to five international fellows each year to take part in this prestigious programme, which has been running for 16 years and has produced many outstanding leaders in the cultural sector.
The fellowship will run from September 2024 – May 2025 with a loose framework. It is designed to improve the development of exceptional cultural leaders at a pivotal point in their career. It is adaptive and self-guided, so you’ll need to be highly motivated and deeply curious.
Program activities overview
Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship Programme activities include:
September 2025:
- Residential leadership course where fellows meet each other
End of January – May 2026:
- Three day-long non-residential skills-based workshops
- A one-day ‘Online Climate Assembly’
- A 360° leadership profile
- A secondment in a UK based cultural organization, (normally in an organization or field very different to your usual workplace or practice) where you’ll be working on a ‘live’ project set by your host organization
- Bespoke learning opportunities through conferences, courses and study visits and peer/sector networking
- Focused support from a mentor or coach
- Thought leadership exploration through a written provocation paper
- Final residential course in May

Eligibility Criteria for fellowship Program
To be eligible for Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship program, you must be an:
- Applicants must be from Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, South Africa
- Intent to return to home country upon the completion of the fellowship
- Home a degree equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honors degree
- Five years work experience by the end of 2023
- Meet minimum requirements of fellowship scheme
- Good knowledge of English language
- Not hold British or dual British citizenship
- Not be an employee, a former employee, or relative* of an employee of His Majesty’s Government
