Commonwealth professional fellowship 2025 is open for applications. The fellowship is for mid-career professionals to work in an organization in the UK. It is a six weeks and three months program starting from February 2025. The program is for professionals living in low and middle income countries. Mid-career professionals with five years of relevant experience can apply. Every year the program announces different themes. For this year, there are six different themes as below,
- Science and technology for development
- Strengthening health systems and capacity
- Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship
- Strengthening global peace, security and governance
- Strengthening resilience and response to crises
- Access, inclusion and opportunity

Commonwealth Fellowships Benefits 2025
- Fellows will receive a return airfare.
- A monthly stipend of £2,057 will be awarded to fellows.
- For fellows whose host institutions are within the London Metropolitan area, the monthly stipend will be £2,553.
- An Arrival Allowance of up to £1,156.60 will be provided.
- A sum of £3,000 will be paid to the host institution for administration and support, upon receipt of an invoice.
- Standard visa fees will be reimbursed.
- Additional financial support will be available for disabled fellows.
Eligibility for Commonwealth Fellowships
To qualify for these Fellowships, applicants must:
- Be a citizen, have refugee status, or be a British Protected Person from an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Permanently reside in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Have at least five years of relevant full-time or equivalent part-time work experience related to the fellowship’s field (voluntary work does not count).
- Be employed at the time of application and plan to return to the same organization after completing the fellowship.
- Provide at least two references, including one from their current employer. Applications without references by the closing date will be ineligible.
- Not have received a Commonwealth Professional Fellowship in the past five years.
- Not be seeking to undertake academic research or study. Academics can apply only if the program focuses on academic management, not research.
- Be available to start the fellowship on the designated date.
- Meet any additional eligibility criteria set by individual host organizations.

Application requirements
In the application form of professional fellowship, prospective Fellows are asked to:
- List all undergraduate and postgraduate university qualifications obtained (where applicable).
- List up to 10 publications and prizes (if applicable).
- Provide details of your employment history and explain how each job is relevant to the programme
- Provide a statement on the relevance of your previous work experience to the proposed fellowship (up to 300 words).
- List names and positions of up to three referees.One referee must be your current employer.
Provide a development impact statement in 4 parts:
Part 1
Up to 200 words: Explain how participation in your selected fellowship relates to one of the six CSC development themes and addresses development issues at the global, national, and local levels.
Part 2
Almost to 100 words: Provide how you intend to apply your new skills once your Fellowship ends.
Part 3
Up to 250 words:Outline the expected changes in development terms following your fellowship, including the outcomes you aim to achieve, the timeframe for their implementation, and who the beneficiaries will be.
Part 4
Maximum 100 words: Describe how the impact of your work could be best measured.
- Provide a personal statement summarizing how your personal background has inspired you to make an impact in your home country. Indicate areas in which you have already contributed, such as overcoming personal or community barriers to your chosen career (up to 500 words).
- Summarize your engagement in voluntary activities and leadership opportunities (up to 500 words).
- Provide a scan of your passport or national identity card.
