U.S. Embassy Dhaka has announced two of the distinguished programs for the students of Bangladesh. The Embassy is accepting applications for the Fulbright Foreign student Program and Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching for International Teachers (Fulbright DAI) Program. Let’s first talk about the Fulbright Foreign Student program, and then get back to the teaching program. 

The Fulbright Foreign student program is a degree program. Whereas, Teaching program is non-degree program for primary and secondary teachers. Fulbright Foreign student program is for those who have bachelor’s degree or Bangladeshi Master’s degree to pursue their Master’s in the United State of America. 

Both of the programs are under U.S Embassy Dhaka and applications are free of cost. 

Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2025-2026

U.S Embassy Dhaka is accepting applications for the Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2025-2026. It’s a flagship International educational exchange program. The program is fully funded scholarship program. It aims to create mutual understanding between the USA and Bangladesh. The U.S Department of State sponsors the program. 

The scholarship is for highly motivated individuals to pursue a master’s degree in the USA. During their study, these individuals learn about the diverse culture of the United States, creating a strong network with other students around the globe. 

Fulbright Foreign student program prefers  young professionals working at higher education institutes in Bangladesh. Also, junior staff working at think tanks, research organizations, and NGOs including both public and private sector.

Eligibility Requirements for Fulbright Foreign Student Program 

To apply for the fulbright Foreign student program, you must fulfill the following Criteria below, 

• Citizenship of Bangladesh and  residing in Bangladesh at the time of application.
• Four years bachelor’s degree with excellent academic record from accredited public or private university 
• Not have any degree from USA college/university 
• Not hold any Master’s degree from any foreign country
• Bangladeshi Master’s Degree are eligible 
• At least 2 years of professional work experience 
• Fluent in English with a minimum iBT TOEFL score of 90 / IELTS 7.0.

Fulbright Distinguished award in teaching program for International teachers (Fulbright DAI) 

Fulbright Distinguished award in teaching for International teachers 2024-2025 is also accepting applications. The scholarship is for the primary and secondary teachers. It is a non-degree program, non-accredited professional exchange program. The scholarship provides an opportunity to the students to enhance their teaching skills. Moreover, they will get a chance to develop expertise in their subject areas.

Also, the teachers will explore the culture of the USA, and network with other teachers from around the world. Major components of the program are;

Eligibility Criteria for Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program

 To apply for fulbright Teaching Program, you must fulfill the following criteria below, 

• Be a Bangladeshi citizen currently residing in Bangladesh.  

• Be a full-time primary and secondary educators, including classroom teachers, 
• five years of professional experience in full-time teaching by the start of the program. 
• Excellent oral and written English language skills to engage in postgraduate level coursework. 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office  such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
