Rotary Peace Fellowship Program 

Rotary peace fellowship program is accepting applications for the academic year 2025-2026.The program accepts around 130 fully funded fellows to study in one of the peace centers. The fellowship covers tuition fees, round-trip tickets, internship, field study expenses and room and board expenses. 

Remember, the Rotary Peace fellowship program is not for Rotary members, employees of a Rotary club or international Rotary club or other Rotary entity. 

The program is designed for leaders who are committed to peace and development. The program is for Master’s degree( 15 to 24 months) and Certificate studies at premier universities(for one year). The rotary receipts of Master’s fellowship may not study at a Rotary peace center in their home country. There are around 50 fellowships for Master’s degree programs and around 80 for certificate studies.  

Rotary Peace fellowship program encourages applications from people with disabilities, and other diverse backgrounds. The program provides reasonable accommodations for the people with disabilities.

Eligibility criteria for Masters Degree Programs

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (peace and development )
  • English proficiency both written and spoken 
  • Strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace 
  • At least 3 years of full time Professional experience in peace and development or relevant area
  • Academic achievements and personal /community/voluntary service
  • Potential leadership qualities 

Rotary Master’s degree program Partner Universities 

For Master’s degree program following universities are partnering with Rotary:

Duke University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA

The fellows will earn master’s degree in International Development policy from Duke and other master’s degrees from various departments at the University of North Carolina. The fellows will also earn a graduate certificate in International Peace and conflict resolution from the UNC.

International Christian University , Tokyo Japan 

Fellows pursue a master’s degree in Peace Studies within the program of Public Policy and Social Research.

University of Bradford, Bradford, England

Peace studies and international development, and offers several master’s degrees related to peace, conflict, security, and development.

 University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia

Master’s degree in international studies and peace and conflict studies at the Graduate Centre of Governance and International Affairs.

Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden

Master’s degree in social science. It is internationally renowned for globally accessible collection of data related to armed conflict and organized violence.

Professional Development Certificate Program eligiblity 

The certificate programs at Makerere University and Bahçeşehir University are designed for people who have a connection or interest in the peacebuilding challenges and opportunities in Africa and the Middle East/North Africa respectively. 

Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be from the region of the program they are applying for
  • Have work experience in the region of the program they are applying for
  • Work with communities or initiatives related to the region of the program they are applying for
  •  Show a strong motivation to learn about the region of the program they are applying for

CERTIFICATE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  •  A preliminary online course 
  • A 10-week on-site course 
  • Field studies 
  • A social change initiative 
  • A one-week on-site capstone seminar

  • English Language Proficiency (For master’s only)

Rotary Peace fellowship deadline

The deadline for the Rotary Peace fellowship program is 15th May, 2024.  

How to Apply for the Fellowship?

The applicants can submit their applications online to Rotary foundation. Upload all relevant documents required for the program. Submit endorsement from fellowship subcommittee till 1st july.
