The Rotary Scholarship program is currently accepting applications from future leaders in water and sanitation. The scholarship is awarded by Rotary Foundation. Through this scholarship,graduate students study at IHE’s Delft campus in the Netherlands. The scholarship is designed for professionals to develop solutions for water and sanitation crises in developing and emerging countries. The scholarship is awarded to the admitted students of Delft’s Msc programme in Water and Sustainable Development. The budget for the scholarship is $ 34,211.
The Rotary scholarship is intended to cover the full costs of a 12-months MSc-program at IHE Delft, currently estimated around $36,900. The scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship program
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship covers;
- Passport/visa
- Inoculations
- Travel expenses (as specified in the grant terms and conditions)
- School supplies
- Tuition
- School fees, including any health insurance required by the study institution
- Room and board
- Household supplies
- Language training courses (but not if university admission is contingent on improvement of language skills)
- Local transportation expenses
Eligibility Criteria for Rotary scholarship
Addmission to IHE Delft
- Choose a track within the IHE Delft MSc program in Water and Sustainable Development: Water & Health, Water Hazards, Risks & Climate, Water Resources & Ecosystems Health, or Water, Food and Energy.
- Apply and receive admission to your chosen track before April 15, 2024. Joint programs are not eligible.
Find Your Rotary Sponsor
- Use Rotary’s Club Finder to locate an active Rotary club or district near you.
- Unfortunately, applications from countries without a Rotary presence are not eligible
Choose Your Sponsor and Connect
- Select the Rotary club or district you’ll submit your application to.
- Attend a club meeting and introduce yourself.
- Inform Rotarians about the IHE Delft-Rotary partnership and express interest in sponsorship.
Highlight Your Value
- Emphasize IHE Delft’s reputation as the world’s largest water education facility and its UN-accredited Master’s degrees.
- Explain how your skills and expertise can benefit the club’s water and sanitation service projects.
Complete and Submit Your Application
- Fill out the scholar candidate portion of the application.
- Gather and submit these supporting documents:
- A copy of your current resume or CV.
- Your IHE Delft admission letter.
- Submit your complete application to your chosen Rotary club by April 15, 2024.
Let the Club Decide
- If the Rotarians choose to sponsor you, they’ll complete the club/district portion of the application.
- They’ll then submit your complete application package (including resume and admission letter) via email by April 15, 2024.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be entertain
Admission requirement for MSC in Water and Sustainable Development
- Bachelor Degree at level B/B (US system ) or upper 2nd British system in relevant field

Following documents are required by IHE DELFT ( institute for Water and Education) for admission in Msc Programme in Water and Sanitation Development;
- Passport/ID
- Academic Diploma BSC degree
- Academic Diploma Msc Degree (if applicable)
- Academic Transcript of records
- Curriculum Vitae
- Two letters of Recommendations
- Results of an English Language Test
Application process
There would be two separate applications for Admission and scholarship.
- For admission, students must visit the official website of IHE DELFT ( institute for Water and Education). Apply for the course MSC in Water and Sustainable Development choosing the theme for the course.
- Apply for the scholarship by submitting a fully completed form by email to rotary.ihescholarship@gmail.com, no later than 15th April 2024, together with the student’s resume and the IHE Delft admission letter.
