The Research Fellowships aim to support outstanding early-career researchers in engineering. The fellowship provides funding for five years and must be held at a UK higher education institution or an eligible UK research organization.

Eligibility Criteria for Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowships
- PhD Requirement: Awarded or approved within the last 4 years (up to 3 months flexibility).
- Host Institution: Must be a UK university/research center eligible for UKRI funding.
- No Restrictions: Open to all nationalities, ages, and career backgrounds.
- Part-Time Option: Work minimum 50% on the fellowship; other jobs allowed outside the host institution.
- Work Permits: Host organization handles visa requirements.
Special Considerations:
- Extensions for maternity/paternity leave, illness, caregiving, or relocation due to safety concerns.
