British council Pakistan has announced the Charles Wallace visiting fellowship program for Pakistani mid-career professionals. If you are a mid-career professional working in Pakistan in the fields of social sciences, humanities, art, creative industries and environmental medical sciences,do apply. This fellowship gives you an opportunity to create long-lasting networking with UK professionals. Also, you will get a chance to explore UK institutions, and different departments. You will meet new people with intellectual minds.
The fellowship focuses on professional development Focusing on higher education, research and networking , and to increase skills and communication .
Two major objectives of the fellowship program includes:
1. Extensive study and research
2. Professional networking and collaboration with peers
Fellowships typically involve attachment to a university department, professional group, or arts organization and can last from 2 weeks to 2 months.
Benefits of the fellowship program
The participants receive a monthly grant of £1,500 and a matching grant of £1,000 to cover visa and travel expenses. Award recipients are responsible for arranging their accommodation in the UK in consultation with their host organizations.
Eligible disciplines:
- The social sciences and humanities
- The arts (all art forms) and creative industries
- The environmental and medical sciences.

Eligibility Criteria for Charles Wallace Visiting Fellowship
If you are aiming to apply for the visiting fellowship you must consider the following points below,
- You must have pakistani passport, and you are currently residing in Pakistan
- Must be between the ages of 30 and 55
- You have written invitation from a UK Institution or art institution
Note -Those who have studied in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Europe and China over the last five years are not eligible for the fellowship.
How to Apply for Charles Wallace Visiting Fellowship program?
The application is online. Interested candidates fill an online application, uploading the required documents which includes:
- Invitation letter from UK institution
- CV with Photograph
The first step is to look for an organization or institution that will invite you to an arts/research or some other event. It must be for two weeks or two months. Once you have an invitation, you can go to the official webpage of the British council to fulfill the application form.
Fill an online application which includes persona, professional, education information and some questions regarding your participation in the UK Institution and the invitation. Once you complete your application, download it.
Now send the downloaded application, Invitation letter, and CV with photograph to cwpt@britishcouncil.org.pk by 14 June 2024. Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates in July 2024.
