Eligibility Requirements for the program
To be eligible for Dean’s Doctoral scholarship Program, applicants must fulfil following criteria below,
- Submit application by the deadline for a program starting in September 2024
- First class or 2.1 UK Honours undergraduate degree or international equivalent holder or expect to achieve
- Hold Master’s qualification at merit or distinction or international equivalent
- Show evidence of research potential, such as participating in or leading academic projects, internships, publications, or outreach activities.
- Highlight any awards, recognition, or collaboration that resulted from your research work or interests.
- Demonstrate your engagement in broader activities, such as volunteering, community service, MEDIA initiatives, or other extracurriculars.
- Explain how these activities have contributed to your personal and professional development, and how they align with your research goals and values.
How to apply for the Dean’s Doctoral Award ?
To be able to apply for Dean’s Doctoral funding you must have an offer to study at the University of Manchester. Also, meet language entry requirements as specified by the Department for your subject or course. You must have a track record of engaging with research. It can be a contribution to publications, articles, and promoting your research.
Once you fulfil these requirements, you can apply for funding.
To apply for Dean’s Doctoral Scholarships, you need a nomination from the lead supervisor. You should contact them before the deadline and tell them you want funding. Dean’s Doctor scholarship award deadline
The scholarship has two application deadlines for 24/25:
- Apply by 31 January 2024 and get interviewed in March. You will know the result by 28 March 2024.
- Apply between 31 January 2024 and 31 March 2024 and get interviewed in May. You will know the result by 31 May 2024.
