USEFP Fulbright Scholar Program for Pakistan 2024|Fully Funded|

The Fulbright Scholar Program is open for applications. The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) is accepting applications. The Fulbright program is one of the well-known fully funded programs in Pakistan. The program offers opportunities for students, scholars, professionals, and artists to contribute to various fields. It has significantly improved the research and education system in Pakistan. USEFP manages all the scholarships for Fulbright. The Fulbright scholar program is a great opportunity to work at U.S. universities. It is to improve mutual understanding between Pakistan and the United States. 

Fulbright scholars are expected to return to Pakistan after completing their program and will contribute to the country’s development by sharing their U.S. experiences with students, colleagues, and community groups. Fulbright Scholar Program 

The Fulbright Scholar Program funds up to 12 months of lectureship, post-doctoral research, or a combination of both at a USA college or university. Approximately 15 scholars will be selected for the 2024 cohort. Among them, 13 slots are reserved for early-career faculty and researchers (2-7 years post-PhD) and 2 slots for senior scholars (8-15 years post-PhD).

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Fulbright Scholar Program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: Must be a Pakistani citizen residing and working in Pakistan.
  • Education: Must hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field and have held this degree for at least two years.
  • Experience: Applicants should have 2-7 years (for early-career scholars) or 8-15 years (for senior scholars) of post-PhD experience.
  • English Proficiency: Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Proposal: A clear and well-formulated research or teaching proposal that outlines what they intend to accomplish in the U.S. and how it relates to their work in Pakistan.
  • Teaching Experience: For those applying for lectureship positions, must have the ability to teach at the university level.

Ineligibility

Certain individuals are not eligible to apply for the Fulbright Scholar Program:

  • Dual Citizenship: Persons with dual U.S./Pakistani nationality or who have a spouse, parent, or child over 18 years of age who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Current U.S. Residents: Persons already studying in the United States or on a work/residence visa in any country.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Employees of USEFP, the U.S. Department of State, or USAID, and their immediate family members.
  • Recent U.S. Experience: Persons who have been in the U.S. for research or other long-term educational opportunities within the last five years.

Application Process

To apply for the Fulbright Scholar Program, candidates must follow these steps:

  1. Complete the application form on the USEFP website.
  2. Submit your references online along with the application.
  3. The application must include a detailed research or teaching proposal.
  4. Applicants must secure at least two invitation letters from U.S. universities, you can submit either at the time of application or after being shortlist.

Application Deadline

The last date to submit the application for the 2024 program is September 18, 2024.
