Robert S. McNamara Fellowship Program

World Bank Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program 

The World Bank fellowship Program Robert S.McNamara is currently accepting applications. The program is for development economics researchers from developing countries. The researchers will work alongside world bank research economists on policy-relevant research. This gives the fellows an opportunity to contribute to the Bank’s development economics. 

The World bank will host the fellows at Washington D.C. The duration of the fellowship is 8 months starting from September to May.

The fellows will work under the supervision of researchers in the World Bank’s Development Impact (DIME) and Development Research Group departments. It aims to engage the participants in high-quality and policy relevant research works. 

It means as a fellow, you will get an opportunity to collaborate with external academics from top universities. This program will help you learn research standards, acquire econometric skills and network with leading researchers. Finally, you will be able to learn how to resolve issues relevant to the developing world.

The world bank’s fellowship provides competitive compensation of Total $46,500 per cohort:

  • Paid monthly stipend for 8 months 
  • Host at the World Bank in Washington D.C

Remember, the fellowship does not cover travel expenses. 

Eligibility Criteria for the Fellowship 

The applicants must fulfill the following criteria below, 

  • Must be nationals of World Bank WBG Member Countries (Priority given to developing countries)
  • Master’s level studies or currently pursuing a Phd in Economics or a related fields:
  • Must not be more than 35 years of Age (by June 30 2024)
  • Available to relocate to Washington, D.C for the duration of the fellowship Program 
  • Fluency in English 

Documents requirement 

For world bank’s fellowship program, following documents are required:

  • An update Curriculum Vitae
  • Statement of Purpose (research interest, professional objectives, qualification as development research)
  • Letter of recommendations (Only if you are shortlisted for the fellowship)
  • Writing sample (Optional)
  • A code sample (Optional)
